Services provided through partnerships with County organizations:
• Meet the needs of the citizens who meet with disaster
• First Aid and CPR classes
• Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructors classes
• Help citizens find the help they may need
The Lafayette County Red Cross was first established as a Chapter in 1917. It operated by volunteers until 1993 when an office was donated by the County. Ken Worhtington was hired as Chapter Manager and a Board was established. Current Chapter Manager Sharon Strickler was hired in 1994. In 2006, The American Red Cross restructured and Lafayette County Red Cross became a Branch Office under the Greater Kansas City Chapter. Full services are provided with funds received from donors.
