FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  How do I obtain a 911 address?

Answer:  Lafayette County residents that require a 911 address must meet a few requirements before an address can be assigned.  Please go to our 911 addressing page to view these simple requirements, or you may call the 911 office for more information at 660-259-2796 or email the office at markallen@lafayettecountymo.com.

Question:  Can I have two addresses at the same residence?

Answer:  No. Two addresses cannot be issued at the same residence.  If an address is desired at the same residence because a family member resides in a seperate area of the home ( basement apartment), then an apartment number will be assigned.  Please communicate this information to the 911 office when requesting your 911 address.

Question:  If I move my driveway, will my address change?

Answer:  Yes, in most cases.  It will depend on the situation so please contact the 911 Director for specific details at 660-259-2796.
