Steps to obtain a 911 Address:
1. Contact Mark Allen, the Lafayette County 911 Director by calling 660.259.2796 or by email at markallen@lafayettecountymo.com.
2. Provide some brief informatin on the location of the address you are requesting. (a) Road name (b) Nearest address (c) Nearest cross road (d) Is this a new or existing driveway (e) side of the road driveway is or will be located
3. Driveway must be marked by a flag to alert us when we drive to the location that we can tell which driveway is to be addressed.
4. We will take a GPS point of the driveway location
5. This information will be downloaded to the 911 addressing computer when the address will be assigned by the computer. This will lessen the possibility of an address change in the future.
6. We will then communicate with Planning and Zoning to see if all their requirements have been met such as Building permits, sewer permits and other requirements.
7.) Once this has been completed the requestor will be called to communicate the new address.
8.) This address will then be uoloaded to the 911 mapping system in the sherriff's Office
9.) Then if you ever dial 911 to request emergency services the new 911 address will be in the 911 mapping system and the emergency services that you require will be sent to your location.
This 911 addressing process has been developed to insure accuracy. The steps explained above are necessary in order to follow the 911 addressing plan approved by the Lafayette County Commission.
