The role for the Lafayette County Planning and Economic Development is to encourage and protect investment in Lafayette County.  Responsibilities of the department include:

    • Implement the Comprehensive Plan, which is the long-range guide for development;
    • Administer the Land Use Development Code, which includes all County zoning and subdivision regulations;
    • Process applications for building permits, sewage permits, rezoning, special use permits, variances, farm splits, conservation subdivisions, development plans and more;
    • Provide recommendations and support to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustment and the County Commission; and
    • Provide information to the public, including realtors, appraisers, developers, contractors and property owners.
    The Planning and Economic Development department also is the ideal starting point to learn more about investing in Lafayette County.  If we don’t have the information you need, we’ll get it for you or make sure to get you to the right place.

The Lafayette County Board of Zoning Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, October 10 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room of the Lafayette County Court House located at 1001 Main St, Lexington, MO, 64067. The purpose of this hearing is to consider a request for a variance to the Setback Requirements for parcel number 19-3.0-05-4-000-076.030. The .556-acre parcel is Agricultural (AG) Zoning District property is located at 799 SW 8th St., Concordia, MO.

The Lafayette County Board of Zoning Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room of the Lafayette County Court House located at 1001 Main St, Lexington, MO, 64067. The purpose of this hearing is to consider a request for a variance to the Lot Width and Depth Ratio from Richardson Trust for parcel number 24-1.0-02-0-000-004.000. The 39.28 acre parcel is Residential Estates (RE) Zoning District property located on Golden Belt Road, Odessa, MO.



 

The Lafayette County Planning & Economic Development Commission will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lafayette County Court House Circuit Courtroom, located at 1001 Main St, Lexington, MO, 64067.  The purpose of the hearing is to consider a Site Plan Amendment from Sommers Building Company, INC. for 6718 Hwy. 131, Odessa, MO.  The parcel number associated with the request is 14-7.0-35-0-000-003.050.  The parcel is zoned Regional Business (RB.)
